PRANKS

Blue Screen Screen Saver v2.2 Blue Screen Screen Saver is no ordinary screen saver for Windows. You install it like any other screen saver, but when it kicks in it displays a simulated BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). After the Crash screen comes up, the computer displays a reboot screen amazingly like the real boot screen. It runs through chkdsk and finds all types of errors then crashes again. Of course, hitting a key will terminate the screen saver and return safely to the OS. Because Blue Screen gets its information for the system startup screen right from the PC, the accuracy will fool even advanced NT administrators.

Avoid v1.00 Make your start button avoid your mouse!

Anti-Virus 2000 Anti-Virus 2000 is a free prank program that masquerades as a legitimate -- but not very convincing -- anti-virus utility. When the user runs the program, it detects a "virus" almost immediately, and of course, the only way to recover from it is to have the user's hard disk formatted. The program proceeds to do that.

Game Of The Century The best pranks are the scariest ones -- and this one is definitely frightening. When "gameofthecentury.exe" is run, a "Please wait -- Initializing" box is displayed. A few moments later, a realistic-looking double-paned Explorer window pops up showing the contents of your Windows folder. You're asked if you wish to delete its contents. No matter how you respond, files begin to be "deleted." Then, all the files on your C: drive are erased (or so you think). Finally, what looks like the Windows shutdown dialog is displayed with a warning that no system files are found on your computer. Luckily, a message pops up asking you if you're glad that "this is just a game" and showing you an ad for Telstar's Virus game. This one might even fool a grizzled power user. Now, if we can just get our heart to restart
